Is DEMOCRACY really better than DICTATORSHIP !!!!

DICTATORSHIP VS DEMOCRACY
Hey Guys! I am Adhyayan your political buddy and now let's discuss one of the most controversial topics of the centuries and that is DEMOCRACY VS DICTATORSHIP. Well, this topic is similar to that of Android VS IOS in terms of being controversial.

So now let's begin-:

While Democracy and Dictatorship are two of the most popular form of governments, in which Democracy is followed by countries like India, the United States of America and many more, while Dictatorship is followed by countries like North Korea, United Arab Emirates and some more.

Both governments have their advantages and disadvantages, so without wasting time let's start-:

  1. Media

While we can see most democratic countries have given the freedom to the media to publish anything they want and most dictatorship regimes have not given any freedom to the media i.e it is state-controlled.

While the policy followed by democratic countries seems to be fairer than what is followed in dictatorships as it gives people unbiased information. But to a person like me, the policy followed by dictatorships seems fairer, the reason for this is the internal security of any country.

Let's take the example of the world's largest democracy - India, which has given infinite freedom to its media. If someone anti-India wants to harm India, he or she can simply buy or open a news firm or even influence the news by money power and spread news whatever the anti-India person wants i.e fake news. Though many news firms exist still it is difficult to tell who is fake or who is not. And one by spreading fake news can easily enrage the people easily what we usually call propaganda to do a violent protest, which if happens can destroy the country.

Now let's see what would happen in a dictatorship, the person would not be open such a news company as the media is controlled by the country and a person cannot influence the news inside the country. So there will be no internal security issue. That's why I prefer dictatorships over democracy.

2.  Protests

Now, let's suppose a protest emerged in India (democratic country) and China (a dictatorship), while many criticize that India allows a protest only till the protest is held in a peaceful way, while China doesn't allow people to take part in a protest.

But here's the logic behind, just name me one mass protest which was held in a peaceful way i.e without any single injuries. Obviously, no one has the answer to that question. So Dictatorships learn from the history, while democracies do not.

That's why I prefer dictatorship over democracy.

3. Issue Handling

Now let's divide the above topic in emergency issues such as military intervention by a foreign power and issues which are time-consuming to overcome.

Emergency Situations

In this scenario, I prefer dictatorships over democracy the simple reason is, in dictatorships the country is ruled by a single person or a group of persons, so in the time of war they have the ability to take quick actions than democracies, which makes them unbeatable in any situation. While a democracy, especially a representative democracy as they have thousand people to consult before taking any actions, which delays the action that has to be taken.

For example, if we see the virus which is spreading nowadays, the so-called coronavirus, If the same situation that occurred in China, now occurs in India, would India be able to make a hospital in 10 days. The answer to that is 'NO'. The simple reason for that is China is a dictatorship while India is a democracy.

That's why I prefer dictatorship over democracy.

Time-Consuming Issues (such as a religious protest)

I sometimes prefer democracy in this case, as if a country is very diverse it is better to have a representative democracy. This solves the problem of each and every community as they have political representation. The issues get solved easily by discussions.

But in the case of dictatorship, a dictator has an ego complex, so if someone guides him that which step the government should take further. So most times dictatorship doesn't perform well in the above scenario.

CONCLUSION -:

Dictatorship is better than democracy if one has an option.

But guys, the political system is not something any country can choose. It evolves over a long time, depending upon the nature of society, its social and regional divisions, its history of politics and its system of elections. This cannot be changed very quickly. Each country develops a political system under special circumstances.

For example- If India has a representative democracy system, the only reason is its diverse population.
