Who is Founder of Boko Haram?
In 2002 Mohammed Yusuf founded Boko Haram. Yusuf was captured by Nigerian Police in July 2009 following Boko Haram uprising and was executed in public. Following the execution of Yusuf , widespred protests started taking place, so police to stop protests said that he was trying to escape so police encountered him. From 2009, the group had been led by Abu Bakar Shekau and is still active in North-East Nigeria.
They support Sharia education and strongly opposes Western Education.
Solution taken by government
Due to violence on civilians of countries like Chad , Cameroon etc.Since 2015, these four countries Niger , Nigeria , Chad , Cameroon collaborated militarily to form Multinational Joint Task Force
So , The President of Nigeria in 2015 said that Boko Haram has defeated technically by the formation of Multinational Joint Task Force .
A Hope Of Boko Haram getting Defeated
Boko Haram split in August 2016, when IS supported the militants who were against Abu Bakar Shekau , and made a new organization Islamic State-West Africa(IS-WA) and made Abu Musab Al- Barnawi.
So Shekau in support of militants who were loyal to him , he formed a terrorist group in name of Jama'atu Ahlis Sunna Lidda'awati wal-Jihad(JAS).
Now Boko Haram was divided into 2 factions-
- Jama'atu Ahlis Sunna Lidda'awati wal-Jihad(JAS).
- Islamic State-West Africa
So people started thinking that the influence of terrorist organizations will become less because of the Multinational Joint Task Force and fighting among militants of the groups.
Loophole in the Solution implemented by Government
Buhari has been critisized because he stated in 2015 that Boko Haram will be defeated by formation of Multinational Joint Task Force but it is not possible because the military does not have proper training and also acquire outdated weapons which can lead to civilian casualties which will be a violation of Article 3 of Universal Declaration of Human Rights which says that "Everyone has the right to life, liberty and security of person."
Why Nigerian Military has outdated weapons?
According to some experts , because if more advance weapons will be given, the chances of a military coup will arise and in reference to Nigerian colonial history , the country has been ruled by Army Generals for 40 years out of 55 years.Proof that Boko Haram is becoming more dangerous year by year
It has killed thousands of people by suicide bombing , mass murder etc.
The influence of the group has spread to Cameroon , Chad ,Niger.
More than 50000 are killed
and millions are forced to flee from their homes due to violence.
